Day 2…Amicalola Falls to Stover Creek. 10.3 miles.
Yesterday may have been hard, but today was harder. Especially now that I am pushing north, and away from her.
The climb to the top of Springer Mountain was as tough as I remembered from all my previous trips. I started just after 11am and arrived around 3pm.
The view was amazing, but not as incredible as getting to talk to Leanna. Thanks for the motivating push babe! And I am so proud of you for climbing those 604 steps yesterday! You are amazing!
Of course I got the picture of the first white blaze and plaque, and then I pushed north. Another 2.8 miles. This brought me to Stover Creek Shelter, where I opted to sleep in the Shelter versus the tent. We shall see how this works.
There I met Thomas, Allen and Vincent. Thomas was attempting a thru hike, but do to a bad hip thought he may have to turn back tomorrow. Allen was out for a weekend section hike and Vincent was thru hiking as well.
After dinner, we talked and then I watched the sun set, closed my eyes and saw her face, smiled … and then called it a night.
Tomorrow’s a brand new day!
Press on !!
