Day 6 … Random Campsite to Sassafras Gap. 17 miles plus 1 mile extra of blue blaze for two water refills. Mile marker 62.6

Remain teachable…This is something my dad taught me and it definitely applies out here, because I am learning every day. Some lessons are harder than others, lol.

So, I thought I’d show you all a picture of what the trail actually consisted of for today. This is the app that I use to track myself while on trail. Only 3 major mountains I had to climb today.

Today was a loooooong day. I hiked all day with AZ and Cooper. And I met some more interesting people, including another senior group out for a hike. I caught up with Tracks, whom I met my second day. He hiked the PCT in 2012. I leaped frogged back and forth with Dingo again, but didn’t see him tonight. I also caught up with the two Matt’s and their dogs at Tray Mountain Shelter. There I met Connie, who’s water filter was on the fritz, so I was able to provide her with some Trail Magic and get her some clean water. I met a guy named Cables and then a bunch of section hikers.

We had a great spot tonight with a lot of hikers hanging out and talking around a nice campfire. And Cooper got his trail name today Fuego – since he loves building the campfire.

The trail brought some INCREDIBLE views today! Tomorrow, I have 6.3 miles to hike and I’ll be in town for another Nero and resupply, so my plan is to upload all the pics then hopefully.

My tent set up tonight has to be the best one so far. I’ll be able to watch the sun set tonight from inside my tent (with you Leanna, I love you and miss you baby). And I’ll be able to watch the sunrise tomorrow out of the other side of my tent…bonus!

Tomorrow is a brand new day.
